Life's Simple Pleasures ♥

Out of my stressful days and chaotic life that I've been dealing with, nothing can really beat life's simplest pleasures.

My happy food. Hipon (Shrimp). One of my favorite seafood of all time. *yum yum* Lunch has a different aura when shrimp with oyster sauce is served. This has been my best bud happy food since I was little, samahan mo pa ng alimango! *drools*

My comfort food. Super love Ice cream now. And I just had myself in-love with strawberry. This will be perfect on rainy days. LOL. Yeah, rainy days! I feel like winter is here in the Philippines :)

I just had my shopping spree yesterday with my mom. These are all for my working days. Formal Casual required. And also, my most awaited - dress-down days *wherein we can wear dress of our choice*. I'm not into shopping actually, but the things that we bought are the things I wanted the most, not the shopping procedure itself. *peace to those shopaholics!*

So, what are your life's simple pleasures?

Pray. Work. Appreciate.

I'm pretty much excited on my first pay day. LOL. But not all of it is so exciting. Of course, you have to work hard since everything that you're entitled for a reward is performance-based, so you need to go an extra mile for that. I want to take this as a challenge. There's this Berlitz Test that we have to pass for our pre-hire requirement, and I'm very nervous regarding the interview assessment.

To relieve anxiety, CHANGE TOPIC! haha :P

Usually, the first week of work has the most lenient time compared to the next days of work. Since it's my third day, I still have the chance to grab some series of Grey's Anatomy in my laptop after work. I have a cool time shift and I can still spend quality time with Nemo.

My work environment and I'm loving it.!

Having lot of snacks is a MUST. *yum yum*
Thanks to Nemo for the pizza! :)

I've been praying for this much, the working phase, wherein I can exercise being an independent person. And I'm loving it. I hope this go smooth as I build a career for myself and to prepare everything for my future.

Before anything else,

I would like to greet my grandfather a Happy Happy Birthday!
We miss you.. I love you :)

Blessings In Disguise.

Today is my first official day of work and I was totally having fun from the orientation to meeting up new co-workers and colleagues. I met new friends along the whole shift, waves at Jenny, Grace, Mommy Yollz, Joel and Jema. And we had nice and cute trainer Mr. Toni.

But before anything else, *flashback*

The day before my first day of work, and that's Sunday. I had a productive day and I just can't figure it out if I'm just too excited or what, LOL.

To start my day, I was with my aunt and grandmother,
and bought a 1-week grocery supplies.
Also bought some goodies for my first-day-of-work-baon the next day. haha :P

Due to Citibank's promo (1 free movie pass for every P1500 single receipt),
We were able to watch Inception good for four (4) persons.
I was with Uncle Mike, Mariel and Marvin.
*yeah.. our grocery was worth 6K*

I was also scheduled on a 6:00 pm mass service as lector 2 (2nd reading). I thought I wouldn't make it to the mass because of the family activities that I attended to, but fortunately, I made it! What was running through my mind was "Kapag gusto maraming paraan", So I was like doing everything I can and as fast as I can to attend and to serve the mass.

One thing is that I wanted to give thanks to God for giving me this job opportunity. I want to pay my gratitude by serving Him during the mass.

I was also happy because that time, I was with my mom,
FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME, my mom saw me doing my service.
*L-R: the present and the future* LOL.

This is Fr. Jovi, one of my favorite priests during the 6:00pm mass.
Yesterday was his last mass at Holy Trinity Parish. He'll be staying in the US for good.
I'll surely miss him. :(

Anyhow...

Since it was my first day of work, Nemo didn't fail to help me with my requirements, he's the one who processed my police clearance and spent even a small time with me before my shift.

He even bought me some pizza & burgers. hahaha :P
Thanks Nemo! *hugs*

Just like a first day in school, we had our introduction, house rules and expectations. Had some games and had an iconnect training onwards. I was enjoying while working and I had a good relationship with my fellow workers. We're 5 in the group who are nurses, 2 RNs and 3 underboards. We had our lunch at 6pm, Mang Inasal *I don't have our picture that time because my cellphone got broken* and I had my baon pininyahang manok. Ended the day with lots of blessings and a smile on my face. Thank you Lord. :)

Welcomes Reality ★

Am I really now a certified salary earner?
I'm very much excited about it but at the same time, nervous.

As a nursing student, admit it or not, is no longer practical here in the Philippines. Most nurses do all the training WITHOUT being paid. They're called Volunteers. You are trained because you need a one year experience for you to be able to work abroad. How sad, isn't it?

If you are going to ask me, I want to work here in the Philippines. And I'm really serious about it. I believe that I can earn the dollars here in my own country. Call me patriotic or whatsoever, but honestly speaking, if I'm going to go abroad, I want it to be somewhat like a trip or tour, nothing more, nothing less.

So now, WE ALL KNOW, that nurses, most especially under boards, go with this kind of career. The most common place where nurses are applying to answer phones and help customers with their needs and complaints.

It's the Call Center Industry. Yeah, I know.

I had a lot of job offers the last week, and if I'm going to compare the salary rates, I don't want to go with the minimum. I finished a 4-year course and all I get is a minimum wage? No thanks :)

Anyhow, I'll be starting my work this Monday July 19, 2010. I'll be working at TeleTech Customer Care Management Philippines Inc. And to start my week...

I had a 1pm scheduled medical exam and a 4pm scheduled Job Offer.
While waiting for 2 hours, I treat myself for a mini-celebration. *throws confetti*

For the last 30 minutes of waiting, I played Soul Calibur 2 at Tom'z World.
I miss playing Soul Calibur most especially in a conquest mode.
I made a new account named Anna. I had a back-to-zero class. *sad*

Thank you God for giving me this great opportunity. I am very happy that, finally, I will be able to source out my own income to support my brother's schooling and for my needs.

Summer at its Finest. ♥

It's been months since my last update and many things happened, but, I will try my best to recount every single detail even though I suffer from short term memory loss.

Before anything else, I'm thinking of leaving... Multiply. But that has made me think over months to totally assure this decision to myself. Multiply is where I started my online life and I can't leave just like that. So I came to a conclusion, to separate my journal from my photo blog. That will make me feel so organized on the web.

My Photo Blog http://azilanna05.multiply.com
My New Journal http://annabaetiong.blogspot.com

Let's start with Summer. Did I mention from my last post the phrase "Hong Kong... Here I come!" ??? Oh well, I want to start my journal with a family bonding all the way to Hong Kong. It was my very first out-of-the-country experience I had, of course, with my second family. I really enjoyed the foods and the hotels that we're checked-in.

Aside from seeing Mickey Mouse in person, I enjoyed the pool where Goofy jumped in during one of Hollywood Hotel's commercial ads. So much fun and so much discoveries while on tour. This was the highlight of my summer. Little sad thing I'm not with my mother. But definitely, here's the hitch: Me and Mom is planning to go to Singapore. I'm super uber excited!

Hong Kong Disneyland. and Tinkerbell.

To Infinity... and Beyond!
I recommend you to watch Toy Story 3! A two-thumbs up!

Goofy spotted at Hollywood Hotel.

Finally got our Disneyland ID Lace.
Photo-Op with Chip n' Dale!

The famous couples, Donald and Daisy :)

Ambush Interview with Pinocchio! haha. :)

Finally, with Mickey and Minnie Mouse!
We also had our photos taken at Tsim Sha Tsui Avenue of Stars.

With my little sister, Mariel.

With Auntie Mylene & Uncle Diko. (mommy & daddy)

More Photos @ Day 1-2 and Day 3-4.

During the summer heat, it was also a day to call on for an intensive review. For the second time around, I just took my NLE last July 3-4, 2010. It was way too easy compared to November boards, but I can say that I'm not sure of my answers, though I give it my best-test shot. I also met new friends along my review sessions at Gapuz, Kudos to Nina, Jen, Mac, Cindy & Eallaine. I know they will make it. And thinking positively, I hope I can too.

I also had a wonderful season with Nemo, we have been celebrating our 1 year and 8 months *and counting* in a relationship. prior to our day, we came up with an idea of having an exchange gift (somewhat like a kris kringle) not too expensive as long as it fits the theme every month of our anniversary. For June's theme, it is something that would remind us back of our childhood days.

I gave Nemo a P10-worth mini -Snakes & Ladders and a Chess board
with a little touch of chocolate goodies. While Nemo gave me cute small magic pencils.

Simple joys that simply we enjoyed! Our next theme this July 24 is a food that something BROWN in color and HAS NOT BEEN EATEN SINCE CHILDBIRTH! haha.. Until now I haven't thought of a food to give.

More of US @ http://nemolovesachie24.blogspot.com/

And Finally, to end up my blog, I would like to grab this opportunity to Thank God for all the blessings He has given me and to my family. Thank you God for also giving me a chance to enhance my english capabilities and leadership management to the work that I chose to build a career with. I hope that I could pass the final assesment next week. I passed the final interview, and so do this assessment! Think positive! Please hasten my english fluency well. I need to practice more often! Thank God for the confidence. I love you! This is for my mother and for my bunsong kapatid.
